Ultrasonic-Assisted Removal of Eriochrome Black T onto Vermicompost: Characterization, Isotherm and Kinetic Modelling

Recently, utilization of biological adsorbents plays an important role in the removal toxic dyes such as Eriochrome Black T (EBT) azo-dye they are considered being produced from natural renewable source, easy availability, low cost, and environmentally friendly. In this study, vermicompost (VC) was utilized to remove aqueous solution along ultrasonic ultrasonic-assisted adsorption. The parameters pH, adsorbent amount, operating time, initial EBT concentration were investigated. highest adsorption capacity obtained 50.64 (mg-EBT g-1-VC) at pH value 2 after minutes Pseudo first order kinetic model fitted very well with experimental data (R2=0.9824). determination coefficient Temkin isotherm (R2=0.8659) revealed that suggested compatible results. results assisted onto VC could be cost- time-efficient. Besides, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) analysis identified surface structure morphology VC. Moreover, functional groups detected before by using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). Thus, interaction mechanism between determined.
